Green Germany
After living in the desert for 2 1/2 years, we were amazed by the beautiful green in Germany! We had a great time showing James how many things God made in the beautiful color of green.

James of Arabia
Family Pictures
Things have been so crazy over the past month that I haven’t even thought about updating the blog. I apologize to our faithful readers. Or maybe I should say viewers, since I know most of you just want to see pictures of James! I’m going to do my best over the next several posts to get you all caught up.
I wanted to have some family pictures taken before we left the Middle East. Claire Collins, who is a high school freshman, took some amazing pictures for us. Here are just a few of my favorites:

8 months
Sorry, everyone. I typed this up over a month ago and in the craziness of our move, I thought I posted it. Oops. Better late than never, right?

On May 11th, James turned 8 months old! On that same day, I had the honor of being at the hospital with my friend, Kari, while she delivered her baby girl, Jordan! Jordan is exactly 8 months younger than James and beautiful! Later that day, when we went back up to the hospital to check in on them, James was already smiling and flirting with her.
This month with James has been so much fun. It seems like each stage is more fun than the last. I've been a little concerned that James is going to skip the whole crawling stage because every time I put him on his tummy to practice, he flips onto his back. He has finally started really pushing up on his arms, so we have hope that he might crawl after all.
James is still very much enjoying eating and is especially enjoying things that he can fed himself. Cheddar cheese is a favorite.
We moved out or our apartment and into a temporary apartment for the rest of our time here. James has taken the transition to the new place and to sleeping in a pack and play very well. Mommy and Daddy are very pleased! I hope he’ll handle the next few months of transition as well as he’s handled this first move.

Not too much has been going on around here. We're working on selling all our stuff and packing up our apartment. It's hard to believe that we leave in less than a month! Wow! It's certainly a bitter sweet feeling.
Yesterday was my birthday, a nice distraction from all the leaving preparations. We went to Starbucks yesterday afternoon and then John and I went out to dinner last night while our friend, Andrew, stayed at the house with James. (Andrew, you're the best!!) It was one of the very few times we've gotten to go out just the two of us since James has been born and it was great.

Thought you might get a kick out of this one. Don't worry, we only let him drink decaf. ;) Just kidding!
