Angela’s parents came for their 2nd visit at the beginning of October. We got to do a little more traveling while they were here. One of the things we did was visit Petra. In case you haven’t heard of it, Petra is an ancient Nabataean city that was carved out of beautiful rose-red rock. Most of you probably know it because Indian Jones and the Last Crusade was filmed here.
We had a great time hiking and exploring. As you can see from the picture below, my archeologist father decided we should take the road less-traveled. The sign says: “Venturing beyond this point without a guide is dangerous. “
We ran into some sweet Bedouin women. We had a fun playing with a couple of the kids.
No fence could stop my husband from exploring! Do you see John in the yellow shirt? Of course, Dad couldn’t be outdone by his son-in law, so he was close behind.
My dad and John had a great time playing Indiana Jones. Dad even decided to use his belt as a make-shift whip. Yeah, they got a little carried away, but we had a blast!
By the end of the day, we were all a little worn out, so we took a couple modes of transportation out of Petra. Mom and I decided we definitely prefer camel over donkey, way more comfy.

I saw the pics on your facebook, but they're so much better with your narration of what's going on! Looks like Petra and the scuba diving was so much fun!
BTW - don't know if you've seen the new Indiana Jones movie - crystal skull something. Don't waste your time - it doesn't hold a candle to the Last Crusade!
