We spent our time at my grandmother’s house just outside of Houston. My parents flew in from Germany and my sisters and new brother-in-law drove down from DFW. John’s family was so gracious to drive from Oklahoma, Arizona, and California to come see us! Well…let’s be honest, they came to see James, but we’ll take what we can get!
We loved every second that we were able to spend with our families. We spent lots of time playing games, drinking coffee, catching up, and of course playing with James. James loved all the attention he got from his aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. I’m afraid he’s in a bit of shock now that we’re back home and he isn’t being held constantly. He seems quite confused by the fact that I don’t come running every time he whimpers.
Aunt Karis & Uncle Josh
All the Martin girls!
Yes, that's my mom in the pink. She just looks like she should be our sister. ;) Playing with Papaw and Aunt Karis
Aunt Leah! All the King family!!
(John's) Aunt JoAnn All the cousins
(kinda hard to get them all to look at the camera at the same time)
James also got to meet his Great Great Grandma (Mamaw - my dad's grandma), who is 96 years old. She came to Houston from Louisiana for Christmas, and a big part of it was just because she wanted to meet James. We are so grateful to our Father to have family that loves us so much!
Sorry to all those friends that we would have loved to have seen while we were there. With it being yet another short trip, we really felt like we needed to spend it primarily with our families. However, in case we haven’t already told you, our term is almost up and we’ll be moving back stateside at the end of May. We look forward to reconnecting with you then!!
