We had our ultra sound yesterday! We found out that we’re having a little boy!!!!! We’re so excited!! The doctor actually taped the whole ultra sound for us, so we have about a 25 minute DVD of our little guy! He was quite content hiding from us, but with a little poking and prodding, we were able to see all his fingers, toes,4 heart chambers, and everything else. The doctor says everything looks good. He weighs just under a pound and is a very healthy little boy! Praise the Lord!!
We’re naming him James Steven, after our fathers. He’ll go by James. :)
One of the things that has John so excited about having a little boy is that he gets a new name. Where we live, they don’t use Mr., Mrs., etc. When you want to show respect to someone, you refer to them as Father/Mother of their oldest son. So, John will now be known as Abu James and I will be Um James.
As you can imagine, our family is thrilled for us, but I’m not sure if any of them are quite as excited about him being a boy as my dad. Being the father of three girls, he’s so excited about having a grandson!

YEAH!!! Ben has been telling me all day how he is going to teach James stuff. Like how to find your fist and how to look so cute your mom can't help but hold you all the time! He is very excited and of course we are too!! Love you guys!

Congratulations on your little boy!!! I can imagine how static your dad must be! How precious. They have some many cute boy outfits these days!! In the case of a boy, I hear Raising Boys by Dr. James Dobson is good and that Dare to Discplince by Dr. Dobson is also another must read. Can't wait to see more pictures of James!! :) Congrats, again!
